    Preston moved into the Sky Bet Championship play-off positions using a hard-fought 2-0 win over Brentford with objects by Tom Barkhuizen and Sean Maguire.
    Maguire objective given the benefit at Deepdale, while Barkhuizen struck after the break from a Bees side who lacked a cutting edge in the final third to the Lilywhites.
    Brentford manager Thomas Frank called an unchanged starting team and Alex Neil made four alterations from the Preston side that drew out time before the break.
    Maguire’s penalty appeal after moving down under Mathias Jensen’s struggle wasn’t entertained by Faith David Coote.
    But the attacker had his reward moments later after he found himself in space in the box to restrain the crossover of Ryan Ledson and tucked beyond David Raya inside five minutes.
    A response from the Bees saw scorer Ollie Watkins slide.
